10 pubs in London

When most people come to Britain for the first time they have some ideas of what they want to do: visit the Tower of London, walk around Camden, visit the National Gallery and the Tate Modern. They can be a HUGE difference between one ideas and the others, but what most people want to do is enjoy an ale at a great British Pub. So here they are, 10 great Pubs in London where you can take it easy and enjoy a good pint of ale:

Central London:

-Fox & Anchor: 115 Charterhouse St, EC1M 6AA. Outstanding British food, interesting real ales and a sympathetic restoration. A real treasure.

- Salisbury: 90St. Martins Lane WC2 4AP. This is one of London’s most striking Victorian pubs with splendid cut glass mirrors, fine upholstery and a magnificent bar.

North London:

- Brewdog:113 Bayham St, NW1 0BA. New craft beer pub in Candem. As well as the full range of its own products, there are many challenging and exciting beers from around the world.

-  Shakespeare’s Head: 1 Arlington Way, EC1R 1XA. This old-school venue is all decorated with a exquisite selectioin from the 70’s. A great place to check out.

-  Wenlock Arms: 26 Wenlock Rd, N1 7TA. It is a sanctuary for beer. It is the strongest survivor in the area and it is a true community pub.

East:

- Edward VII: 47 Broadway, E15 4BQ. Named after the twentieth century’s most bibulous monarch, it is Stratford’s favourite pub.

- Dove: 24-28 Broadway Market, E8 4QJ. Placed in the busy Broadway Market this place hasn’t lost its essence. Wide range of Belgian beers and an excellent spot for Saturday mornings.

South:

- Antelope: 76 Mitcham Rd, SW17 9NG. The place is amazing. It seems that invites you in and says: rest, take your time while enjoying their beers.

-  Old Brewery: Old Royal Naval College, SE10 9LM. This modern pub is the best one to sample the liquid output of the pioneering Greenwich beermaking. So, enjoy.

West:

- White Horse: 1-3 Parsons Green, SW6 4UL. It is an ancestral spot. Even though it attracts a huge quantity of posh people, and you might find yourself like an outsider, you should go and try an ale in there. It is way too worthy.
