clashbar is the all new venue situated deep in the cells of the old Clerkenwell Magistrates Court in Kings Cross, famous for its infamous felons including 70's punk rockers, The Clash and Charles Dickens' characters, Oliver Twist, Fagan and The Artful Dodger. However, things have got considerably less draconian in this beautiful old court house since their encounters with the beak and instead clashbar brings you 7 nights a week of pure, unadulterated fun, frivolity and sonic happiness.

80's LOCK-IN PARTY SAT 14th AUGUST

Do you remember when shoulder pads and big hair were normal?!! No? Good for you!! Still, there were loads of things about the 80's that are worth remembering like some great music, neon, cocktails, er, big hair, lots of make-up and sunglasses and tonight's the night to celebrate them!

Drag out whatever you can find in your rucksack that looks in the least bit 80's and don it down in the bar while you jut out your chin, vogue, drink cocktails, pick eachother up with bad chat up lines and hopefully you won't fade to grey, little wallflower....!

Come and celebrate in CLASHBAR!!.. and don't forget, you'll find us in the basement...!

CARNIVAL!!!!! Fancy Dress Party SAT 28th AUGUST

Oh yes!!! It's time to party harty ladies and gentlement........ all weekend long!! Plus, there's no fear of having to get up early on Monday morning. It's Bank HOliday. So just party.

CLASHBAR has got loads of cool and refreshing and yet zingy, spicey rum based drink special plus some ice cold beer to get your lips around and Henry Otim, our fabulous DJ knows how to HOT HOT HOTTTTT things up. So, dress up in your finest, brightest, most colourful carnival gear and come down early to enjoy the fun.

We can't wait to start the party!

We can help you celebrate in style during your stay either in our Bar or Film/TV room. If it's in our CLASHBAR we can offer you drink deals, create a cocktail for you and give it a special name, decorate the bar, arrange fancy dress, show your video's (not your private collection mind!) on our big screen as well as organise a hot DJ who'll be more than happy to play what you want to hear.

If it's in the Film Room you might want to show a special film or choose one from our collection. Plus, you could all dress up and make it a party including drinks and popcorn! In the meantime, we've been working hard this year to make the bar even better than it was before. We’ve done some twiddling with the sound system, some shuffling around with the furniture and lighting, added a new exhibition for the walls (see visuals) AND best of all we have been putting together an all new drinks menu which will include a smorgasboard of mindbendingly tasty shots and pitchers which should leave you chomping at the bit to sample more!

And, to top it all, we have gathered a fine selection of British and imported beers, ciders and wines so that you get a true taste of your new surroundings whilst sound-tracking your nights with an exploration of cosmic tunes which compliment the visuals in the bar.

We’ve also got reviews on our favourite books, records and exhibitions too. If you want to further reviews or to purchase any of these items you can check out the clinklinks page for direct links.

This year we’re also hoping to get those clinkbar t.shirts and beer mats printed that so many of you have been asking about buying.

Strange games and funky things

We realise that you probably need a bit more than booze and beds during your stay at the Clink so we’re putting together the ultimate Games Room for you to play your day away in. Check out the new pool table, table football, board games and lots more stuff.
Bet we can beat you at Le Babyfoot!

We’ll also be showing in the bar some of the major games of football/rugby/tennis or whatever’s exciting to you at the time. So, check the listings and the news pages for these special events.
