ClinkNOORD Youth Hostel in Amsterdam
Looking for a cheap youth hostel in Amsterdam City Centre?
When we saw this old, 1920’s laboratory sitting empty on the banks of the River IJ, we just knew we had to bring it back to life! Simple but stylish Dutch design lets the building’s original features shine whilst creating playful and welcoming social spaces.
Find the youth hostel in Amsterdam Noord, one of the city’s most creative and culturally vibrant areas close to the Dutch capital’s best attractions. Amsterdam’s famous sights are just a hop, skip and a jump away from this central location near Centraal Station!
To get to us: Step aboard the free, five minute ferry from Amsterdam Centraal Station to the other side of the River IJ (it runs 24/7) and ClinkNOORD is only 300 metres away (see below for full directions).
We’re doing what we can to make sure ClinkNOORD is clean, safe and fun for all our guests. 4-8 bed en-suite dorms
Small to medium sized shared dorms with modern bunk beds and lockers
- For budget-minded city explorers who miss sleepovers, this co-ed dorm is for you!
- You will have access to an en-suite bathroom / shower
- Each bunk comes with bedding, reading light, power outlet, USB port, and a small luggage locker.
- Bed linen is included and towels can be rented at the reception for a small fee.
- Ideal for small groups of friends and solo travelers who like a few select roommates
8-14 bed dorm
Large shared bedrooms with modern bunk beds and lockers
- For the very budget backpacker who wants a larger mixed dorm
- You will have access to a shared bathroom / shower.

4 & 10 Bed Girls En-Suite Dorm
Small to medium bedrooms with modern bunk beds and lockers. Only for girls!

From Amsterdam Central Station
When you arrive at Centraal Station, follow the signs to the ferries. From here, jump on the free ferry (24/7) to ‘Veer Buiksloterweg’ which only takes 3 minutes and runs every 7 minutes (departs every 15 minutes during the night). From the boat, ClinkNOORD is only 400m away.
When you get off the ferry, turn left straight away. Walk straight ahead across the bridge towards the EYE Film Museum and the A’DAM Tower. Once you’ve crossed the bridge, turn right immediately and walk straight along the canal, with ‘The Butcher’ restaurant on your left. Keep following the canal for about 50 metres and ClinkNOORD will be on your left. It’s a big brown building with a ‘CLINK’ sign outside – you can’t miss it!

From Schiphol Airport
When you arrive at Schiphol Airport, buy a cheap train ticket to Centraal Station from one of the yellow ticket machines in the airport arrivals hall. Check the time and platform of the next train heading to Amsterdam Centraal on the screens (the platform is usually number 2 or 5). The train runs every 15-30 minutes and it’s just a 15-20-minute journey into Amsterdam. Once at Centraal Station, follow the directions above.

From Rotterdam The Hague Airport
When you arrive in Rotterdam The Hague Airport, buy a bus and train ticket from one of the ticket stands in the airport (Be sure to buy the combined train and bus ticket). Take the number 33 bus to Rotterdam Central Station. Once there, you can either get the Intercity Direct train which takes around 40 minutes to Centraal station via Schiphol Airport or the Intercity Train, which takes a little longer as it stops at 4 stations via either Schiphol or Haarlem. Once at Centraal station, follow the directions above.
You can also buy train tickets in advance from Discoverholland.com. This means that you don’t need to queue at the airport and can board the train directly. Also available are Amsterdam Travel tickets which give you unlimited travel across Amsterdam for 1-, 2- or 3-days.

Parking at the hostel
We don’t have any parking available at the hostel. However, you have two options for paid parking close-by:
1) On Street – Asterweg and Distelweg
2) Underground – A’DAM Toren / EYE Filmmuseum

Breakfast Buffet
Fuel up for the day with our great value breakfast, including a selection of cereals, breads, cheeses, meats, fresh fruit, hot items and much more. As well as plenty of juices, teas and coffees to choose from. Just €6.90 when you book online from the pre-arrival email you receive 72hrs prior to your arrival or €8.90 on the day.
Towel Hire
Towels are included in private rooms (double, cell, twin and quad rooms) and are available to hire for guests in dorms (the towel is yours to keep for your whole stay) for just €3.50.
Luggage + Lockers
If you arrive before check-in, you’re welcome to store your bags in one of our many lockers available. There you can rent a locker (36 (w) x 46 (d) x 87 (h) cm). Prices are € 3,00 for 4 hours, € 5,00 for 12 hours and € 7,00 for 24 hours. Just remember to bring a padlock or you can buy one at Reception for € 6. Unfortunately, we can’t store bags for longer periods of time due to the high volume of people checking in & out. Any locker occupied for more than 24 hours may be opened & emptied by management.
Guest Kitchen
Our guest kitchen has all the things you need to cook a tasty feast! The kitchen is open from 7.30am – 11.00pm 7 days a week

Open from Thursday – Sunday for all your food and drinks needs!
Hair Dryers
If you need a hairdryer, we have a few at reception. Just come down and borrow one for a cash deposit of €20 which will be returned to you when the hairdryer is dropped back to reception.

Buy your discounted tickets for Amsterdam attractions + travel essentials at Reception.
Laundry
Washing machines are available at the hostel. Get your tokens at reception. €4.50 (detergent included) to wash, €3.50 to dry.

Our Reception is open 24/7 so there’s always someone available if you need help! Arriving late? Our night team can check you in no problem 😊
Bike Hire Available
Bike hire is available from 10 euro at reception (seasonal bike tours are also available between April-Oct). Bikes can be rented for 3h, 24h, 48h, 72h + insurance available.
