Can I self-quarantine at your hostels?
To keep our guests and team safe we can’t allow anyone arriving from a country on the self-quarantine list to do this at our hostels.
Please note that it is your responsibility to check quarantine requirements before arrival.
Can I send my Covid Testing kit to the hostel?
Feel free to send your Covid Testing kit to the hostel you are staying at, but we can’t take responsibility for any lost test kits.

I have a covid credit/voucher. How can I use it?
Please email our Reservation Team at [email protected] to claim your voucher stating the following:
- Original hostel booked
- Original booking name
- Original confirmation number
- New booking dates
Once you re-book, the new reservation will be non-refundable. The credited amount can only be used for one future reservation – therefore if it is a cheaper amount we cannot refund or carry over the credited amount.

Can I just turn up to the hostel to book a bed/room?
For sure! We always try to keep a few beds available for walk-ins. It can get busy in the cities though, especially in the summer and on weekends, so we’d suggest giving us a call on +44 (0)20 7183 9400 to check availability. Remember – you’ll need valid photo ID when checking in. To stay with us you need to be 18+ years or accompanied with an adult.
Can I still book if I don't have a credit card?
Nope, sorry! You’ll need a credit or debit card to secure your booking. Whilst we can’t hold a booking without a card, our Reservations Team can let you know about availability.
Why do you need my credit card details?
We need your credit card details to make a reservation, as full payment may be taken at the time of booking.
Why is my payment not matching my booking total?
In Amsterdam, a 7% city tax and a €3 tourist tax per person per day will be added to your booking once you confirm your booking hence this is why your payment is always more than your room booking.

Do you offer accessible rooms?
Yes, we do in Clink78 and ClinkNOORD.
For Clink78 we suggest you book a private room shared facilities so we can allocate you in room G29 or G30 as the accessible shower and toilet is located right outside the room. Alternatively, you can book any other room type but email us in advance of your stay so we can allocate you in a ground floor room. Please note our dorms are on the small side hence why we recommend you to book a private room instead.
For a stay at ClinkNOORD you will need to book a Private Quad room available as it is the only room type that has accessible en-suite bathroom. These rooms are located close to the elevator and are for up to 4 guests (one double bed and two single beds in a bunk). Please email us in advance of your stay so we can allocate you in the best room for you.
Why do the rates vary?
Rates can vary for different reasons. A lot of the time, it’s down to availability and how busy it is in the city.

We have different offers running throughout the year. Just check out our Special Offers page for more info. To make sure you’re getting the best rate, always book directly with us on this website.
I haven't received a confirmation email. What should I do?
First off, check that it hasn’t slipped into your junk folder! If it’s not there, then email our lovely Reservations team at [email protected] stating the name of the hostel you book, your name and arrival date.
Do you provide confirmation letters for embassies?
Nope, sorry! We don’t have the capacity to be able to handle these kinds of requests.
Check-in & payments
What time is check in and check out?
Check-in is from 4pm until 4am. Our Receptions are open 24/7 but if you can please check-in online before arrival. You should have received an email to do so once your booking is confirmed.
If you arrive before 4 pm, why not upgrade to early check-in (subject to availability, extra charge). This can be done via our upgrading email that you should receive 3 days before arrival.
For check-out you’ll need to be packed up and out of your room by 10am on the day that you’re leaving, unless you opt for our late checkout (subject to availability, extra charge). This would give you until 12pm.
Can I check-in online before arrival?
You sure can and you should do! Once your booking is confirmed, you will receive an online check-in email from us. Click the link to confirm your booking, download the Goki app and gain access to your digital key card.
By downloaded our Goki app, you will get:

Will I need photo ID?
Yep, in order to check in to any of our hostels we’ll require valid photo ID.
What payment methods do you accept on site?
We accept cash in the official currency of the country you’re visiting, and credit cards are accepted.
How to gain entrance to the hostels in a wheelchair?
To gain access when you first arrive, you will need to ring the buzzer outside the building (at the bottom of the stairs) or contact our reception team on +44 (0)20 3475 3000 as there’s a side door with no stairs that you can use to come in.
To gain access you will need to contact our reception team on +31 202 149 730 to let them know you’ve arrived and then you’ll be able to use the side door, where you’ll enter without stairs.
What’s the difference between a private room and a dorm?
When you book a private room, you will only be sleeping in a room with the people you booked with whereas in a dorm, you will have room mates.
What’s the difference between a twin room and a double room?
A twin room is a room that has one bunk bed, and a double room is a room that has one double bed.
Are the dormitories mixed?
Dorms are mixed unless you book a ‘Girls Only’ dorm.
What's a pod room?
Our pod beds are designed to make you feel like you are staying in a private room. The pods have black out curtains to provide privacy while you sleep. Each pod is equipped with hooks for clothes, a rail for towels, adjustable ventilation (for a flow of clean & fresh air), upholstery for sitting comfortably, reading light, charging points, multicolour LED light and a mesh pocket for items.
We’ve also selected super comfy mattresses and linen to give you the best sleep experience ever!
What’s the difference between shared facilities and en-suite?
If you book a room or a bed in a shared facilities room, you’ll need to pop outside your room or dorm to use the shared toilet and shower facilities. They’re located on every floor – just remember to bring your key card or your phone!
If you book an en-suite room or bed, you room has its own bathroom. It means you don’t have to go outside your room to use the toilet or shower. Just be aware that if you have booked an en-suite dorm, you’ll share the bathroom with other guests staying in the dorm with you.
Facilities & Services
Do you provide bed linen and towels?
A pillow, duvet and fresh bedding awaits you! Towels are provided in private rooms (Cells, Twins, Doubles, Singles and Quads only) but you’ll need to bring your own or rent one from Reception for a small fee if you’re staying in a dorm, even if you have booked the full dorm!
How often will my room be clean?
Our private rooms and dorms are cleaned daily (except long terms rooms that are cleaned weekly) but please note we won’t be making your bed daily.
What's the deal with breakfast?
Book in advance to enjoy a discounted all-you-can-eat breakfast. Tuck into toast and spreads, fruit salad, yogurt, cereal, juice, tea and coffee. (served 7-10am.)
Fuel up for the day with our great value breakfast, including a selection of cereals, breads, cheeses, meats, fresh fruit, hot items and much more. As well as plenty of juices, teas and coffees to choose from. Just €6.90 when you book before your stay or €8.90 on the day.
A few days before arrival, you will receive an email from us to upgrade your room and add services such as breakfast. Follow the link to book.
Can I be allocated in a bottom bed?
You sure can! Upgrade by clicking the link for upgrade on the email you will receive to prepare your stay 3 days before arrival.
Do you offer accessible facilities?
You’ll be able to enjoy most our facilities at Clink78 and ClinkNOORD like the bars, cafes, dining, and reception areas can be access via our accessible elevators.
When can I use the self-catering kitchen?
Want to make a budget friendly lunch or dinner? The self-catering kitchens are open from 12.30pm until midnight in Clink78 & Clink261 and open from 7:00am until midnight in ClinkNOORD. The kitchen is used to serve breakfast in the mornings, so can’t be used for other cooking during this time.
Where can I store my luggage and valuables?
Each dorm bed has a small safety box which can fit valuables (mobile phone, wallet etc) along with a small locker in the room. Remember to bring a padlock or buy one from reception.
If you’re looking to lock up larger bags on your day of arrival or departure, we have lockers (35inch TALL x 18inch DEEP x 13inch WIDE) located in our luggage store, that can fit smaller back packs and suitcases. Charge applies, payable on site.
Each bed in 18 bedded dorms has a small safety box which can fit valuables (mobile phone, wallet etc). Other dorms have a locker to store small backpack/bags. These are free to use. Remember to bring a padlock or buy one from reception.
Small Lockers (which can fit small backpacks and laptops) are also available to rent next to Reception. We also have larger lockers (95.5cm x 30cm) that are big enough for 1 suitcase.
Each bed in dorms has a locker assigned to it which is large enough to fit a small backpack and small personal items. These are free to use, just remember to bring a padlock or you can buy one at Reception. We also have small lockers (free to use – just bring / buy a padlock) near reception which can be used to store valuables.
If you arrive before check-in, you’re welcome to store your bags in one of our rented lockers available. Any locker occupied for more than 24 hours may be opened and emptied by management.
Can I bring alcohol into the hostel?
You’re not allowed to bring alcohol into any of our hostels. If you fancy a cheeky drink, head to the ClashBAR in London or ZincBAR in Amsterdam.
Can I smoke/vape in the hostels?
Sorry, it’s strictly no smoking/vaping inside the hostels! If you enjoy a nicotine fix every now and then, you’re welcome to smoke/vape outside the hostels.
Is the hostel safe and secure?
You bet! Reception is open 24/7, so there’s always someone available if you have any issues or need a question answered. Alternatively chat to us through our messaging section in our Goki app.
Access to all the hostels is by key card or mobile phone key entry (as long as you have downloaded our Goki app before arrival).
Our security team at Clink78 and ClinkNOORD are on duty every night and CCTV cameras are up and running in all communal areas and corridors.
Can I park close to ClinkNOORD?
We don’t have any parking available at the hostel. However, you have two options for paid parking close-by:
On Street – Asterweg and Distelweg
Underground – A’DAM Toren / EYE Filmmuseum
Reserve a spot via www.adam-parking.com
Can I park close to Clink78 & Clink261?
We don’t have any parking spaces directly at the hostels unfortunately. However, parking is available at the nearby NCP car park. The address is:
Judd Street NCP Car Park, Judd Street, St. Pancras, WC1H 9QR.
The car park is open from: 05:00-23:00. Height restriction is: 1.9m
Are there hairdryers / irons in the rooms?
Afraid not! We do have a few you can borrow at Reception though. Just leave a deposit with us and you can take it up to your room.
Will my friends and I all be in the same room?
We do our very best to make sure you and your friends are all placed in the same room (please note, however, that we can’t be held responsible if you discover a secret snorer amongst your group!).
How long can I stay in the hostel?
You can only book to stay with us at Clink78 and Clink261 for up to 14 days at any one time. After these 14 days, you won’t be allowed to stay for 14 days, after which you can then stay for a further 14 days.
Currently, we are offering monthly rates in Amsterdam.
Can I bring children under 16 years of age?
You can indeed! We welcome youngsters in private bookings. Children under 16 must be booked in private rooms or the whole party must take over a whole dorm. Teenagers aged 16 and 17 can be booked into shared dorms as long as they’re with someone aged 18 or over.
Do you accept booking from 17-18 years old?
We do, as long as, there is one person that is 18 years old. Note that this person will be responsible for the underage guest.
Do you offer free of charge beds for children?
Children under 3 stay free of charge in travel cot in their parents’ room. A private room or a whole dorm will have to be booked. Children under 16 cannot stay in a dorm.
Do you have travel cot available to use?
We do and the best part is they are free however they are in limited number. Please email us at [email protected] stating the name of the hostel you book, your name and arrival date in advance of your stay.
Can I bring my pet?
Afraid not unless it is an assistant dog but please do remember to bring all it needs for a comfortable night stay.

A group at Clink is 10 people or more travelling together.
What is your age policy for groups?
We accept any groups where the members are 12 or above.

We accept all types of groups such as University & Colleges groups, Secondary groups, High School groups, Sports groups, Music groups, Associations, Special interest groups, Parties & Celebrations groups, families…

Are dorms single sex or mixed?
We will book as per your request, just let us know at the time of booking.
How early do I have to book?
We advise you to book as early as possible. This way we can ensure you get the rooms you want and make sure you get the best price possible.
How can I make a group booking?
If you are a group between 10 and 20 people, you can simply book by following this link, it will only take a few minutes.
If you’re a group of 21 or more people, please fill in our group booking form and our group team will assist and get back to you shortly.
When and how can I pay?
For groups of less than 20 people, your credit card will be automatically charged as stated on your booking confirmation (based on the rate you chose).
For groups of 21 people or more, you will need to pay a 20% deposit when confirming the booking. The remaining balance will need to be paid 30 days prior arrival. We accept bank transfers and MasterCard/visa cards payments.
What is your group cancellation policy?
It varies depending on the size of your group, please check your booking confirmation for more information.
What meals are included?
All-you-can-eat breakfast is free for groups of 21 or more people. As it can be busy in the morning, your group will need to book a 30-minute slot in advance. Time slots are allocated on a first come, first served basis, so please get in touch as soon as possible to secure the preferred time. Slots will be allocated automatically if not confirmed in advance.
We can also organise home-made packed lunches and lunch/dinner meals (served at the hostels). Just let us know at the time of booking.
Can we all be allocated together on the same floor?
Due to the layout of the buildings and the room types chosen, we can’t always accommodate groups on the same floor. We will, however, do our best to place them as close together as possible.
Is your hostel safe for underage groups?
Each group member will be given a key card which enables access to our building and rooms. We have CCTV and security at night. Our reception is manned 24/7.
Do you have a curfew?
Students under 18 will need to be in their bedroom by 11pm.
What do we need to check-in?
Check-in is from 2.30 pm. Should you arrive earlier, it is not a problem, just let us know in advance.
Check-out is by 10.00 am, you are welcome to use the free luggage room and carry on exploring the city.
What time is check-in and check-out for groups?
We request all group members to check-in and check-out all together. If it is not possible, please advise us in advance so we make sure that everything goes smoothly for your group.
Do I need to pay a security deposit on arrival?
No security deposit needed however please note that if the group damage the property or break rules, you will be fined on the spot.
Can you help us plan the rest of our trip?
Not much! The group leader will need to fill in one-page document, with his/her contact details and a team member will then explain the house rules and answer all your questions. After that, you’ll have access to your rooms and all our facilities…
Of course! We can help you organise meals (packed lunch, dinners…), attractions tickets, transportation tickets, airport transfers, day trips, walking tours…. We offer meeting rooms hire too and are always happy to think outside the box to create bespoke events, please just ask us!
Can I get packed lunches/tickets delivered to the hostels?
Unfortunately, we can’t accept delivery of packed lunches/tickets ordered by external companies at any of the hostels, but we can organise all this for you.
How can I amend/cancel my booking?
You can amend/cancel your booking by sending an email to [email protected] stating the name of the hostel you have booked, your group name and arrival date. Please be aware that a cancellation fee might apply.
