August is the month of Amsterdam Pride and the city is buzzing. There’s loads of great things to do. From outdoor film screenings to classical music on the canals. Here’s our pick of the best!

1. Celebrate life and love at Amsterdam Pride!

Amsterdam and its people are well known for their liberal nature. That’s why, when Amsterdam Pride rolls around each summer, the city is buzzing with life, fun and love. The Pride diary is packed with club nights, film screenings, talks and more throughout the city, culminating with the main parade on Saturday 5th August. Watch hundreds of party boats float along the city’s main canals spreading the messages that’s it’s OK to be whoever you want to be! We couldn’t agree more.

The travelling festival brings small theatre performances, dance, music and circus groups, comedians and magicians to all of the Netherlands’ big cities, ending with the final leg in Amsterdam’s Kingpark.

7. Stretch it out with free yoga at Vondelpark

If you’re travelling and on a budget, it’s not always easy to fit in exercise. Why not come along to free yoga in beautiful Vondelpark, running every Saturday throughout the summer? Anne runs the classes and loves to combine the powerful vinyasa flow with the attitudes and breathing techniques associated with yin yoga.  Yes, it’s weather dependent (!) so make sure to head over to ‘T Blauew Theehuis’ facebook on Friday night to check if it’s going ahead.
