1. Get your Summer Fashion Fix at Spitalfields
If you’re looking for a hot festival look, cool holiday wear or unique vintage garms, then ‘Wasted Chic’ at Spitalfields is the place to head. Young designers and stall holders will be taking over one of London’s oldest and most iconic markets for a second date this summer. Best of all, you can grab some tasty street food and a cocktail (or two!) to keep up your energy levels as you browse!

2. Watch the best ‘werk it’ at the Barbican
‘Ballroom,’ for anyone not in the know, is an underground LGBT subculture in which people ‘walk’ (meaning ‘compete’) for prizes and trophies at events known as balls. This summer, the Barbican hosts ‘Werq.’ Come along to catch contenstants compete in fierce battles in categories such as ‘runway,’ ‘realness’ and ‘performance’ categories. DJ Biggy C will be spinning the tunes and there’ll be performances from Chicago-born rapper Mister Wallace and international superstar Kiddy Smile.

3. Get those creative juices flowing with Neon Naked Life Drawing!
I bet those are a few words you never thought you’d hear in a sentence together. But that doesn’t mean that Neon Naked Life Drawing doesn’t make complete creative sense. This innovative artistic experience combines an industrial UV light with reactive body paints to create a spectacle that’s bound to get those creative juices flowing. Come and unleash your inner artist (and grab a pint whilst your at it).

4. Go raw at Raw Fest
If healthy, natural living is your bag then Raw Fest is probably your Valhalla. 5. Party up high with Into the Woods
‘Into the Woods’ has quickly garnered a reputation as one of East London’s most respected underground parties. Starting life in the forests of Hackney Wick, it has since expanded to set up in some of London’s most unique spaces. With a focus on the more groovy, minimal side of techno, you’ll find yourself surprised and delighted by the sounds at Into the Woods. Tickets don’t hang around, so grab one quick.

6. Experience another side to Pride at Deptford LGBTIQ+ Community Pride
If all the razzle and dazzle of the main pride event in Central London just isn’t for you, then this is just the ticket! Organised by Georgia Little, a queer feminist activist based in South East London, this free event is all about stimulating conversations on social change and intersectionality. Come along and get involved with workshops, catch some amazing performances and have a boogie!

7. Delve into the History of Disco!
Looking for a lesson on the history of those funky, booty shaking, love making disco sounds? Well here it is folks! Head to Oval Space, in the heart of East London, where things will be getting super groovy as DJs pay homage to all things D.I.S.C.O. If you really want to get in the spirit of it, make sure to come dressed in your finest disco gear, and get down down and dirty with your best disco moves.

9. Get in the party mood at Notting Hill Carnival
This carnival really needs no introduction. Europe’s biggest street festival is the most anticipated event of the summer. 10. Appreciate ‘Queer British Art’ at Tate Britain
The Tate presents the first ever exhibition dedicated to queer British art. The exhibition explores how artists sought to express themselves in a time when established assumptions about gender / sexuality were being questioned. With works from Singer Sargent through to David Hockey, the exhibition reveals an incredible range of stories and identities relating to lesbian, bisexual, trans and queer artists.
