King’s Cross Pond Club
The UK’s first, man-made, freshwater, public swimming experience is here, and just in time for summer. Plus, it’s right next to CLINK Hostels!
The 40m long chemical-free pond, complete with natural plant life, is situated in the heart of King’s Cross’s evolving artist quarter just behind the main station. There are changing rooms and showers but NO hair-dryers or dressing tables – this is an all-natural affair! Visitors to the pond are encouraged to enter the water and participate in the installation as a piece of experiential art. The idea is to respect the plants you are swimming with and they will in turn purify your experience. So, go take a dip and remember, you’ve… Got To Get In To Get Out!
Just want to watch?
There is a fantastic viewing platform providing visitors with an aerial view of the pool and the wider area of King’s Cross. This is accessible adjacent to the pond entrance. The Skip Garden is also situated next door where you can dabble in a little urban gardening.
