1. Winter Wonderland
Where? Hyde park
When? 9th November – 6th January
Why go? For all of you big kids at heart!
Tickets: Entry is free but book ahead for ‘experiences’
As its name suggests, Winter Wonderland is actually much more than a Christmas market. London’s Hyde Park is transformed into a full on festive village with fair rides and food and drink stalls (including a proper ‘Bavarian Village!) and all the usual market stalls selling gifts and trinkets. There’s even a giant ice rink if you feel like sliding about for a while. A visit to Winter Wonderland certainly isn’t quaint and quiet … There are big crowds, bright lights and decorations that are by no means understated (look out for the singing reindeer head!) But if you’re up for a bit of gaudy festive fun then Winter Wonderland is definitely worth a visit. Entry is free but if you want to do any of the ‘experiences’ on site you’ll need to book ahead.
