The Best Group Things to do in London

July 13, 2023

Travelling to the city with friends and looking for fun group activities? We can help! Here’s our pick of the best group things to do in London…

1. Eat your way round Dinerama

Where? Dinerama, 19 Great Eastern St, London EC2A 3EJ
Why go with your group? Because when you’re travelling as a group, picking just one restaurant is out of the question

Deciding where to eat when you’re travelling with a group of friends in London is close to impossible. With so many different people to keep happy, sometimes it can feel like you’ll never find a place to eat. Thank goodness, then for London’s recent explosion of dining ‘villages.’ Street Feast are the people behind some of our favourite spots. Since their launch in 2012, they have made it their mission to transform disused and derelict spaces into unique eating and drinking spaces. One of our favourites is Dinerama in Shoreditch. With a current offering of delicious dumplings, authentic wood-fired pizzas, Bao Buns, Argentinian grill and much more, there’s enough choice to keep even the fussiest of eaters happy.

2. Go boating in Hyde Park

Where? The Serpentine, Hyde Park
Why go with your group? Because it’s a great way to experience one of London’s most famous parks

Hyde Park is one of central London’s real gems – an expanse of green grass, ancient trees and a huge body of water right in the heart of the city. If you and your group are looking for something to do that’s a bit more relaxing than wandering the streets of Oxford Circus, then why not hire a rowing boat or pedalo and cruise around the Serpentine Lake? It’s a great way to get a bit of exercise, bond with your pals and take in some of London’s beautiful natural scenery.

3. Hop on a Boris Bike!

Where? All around the city
Why go with your group? Two wheels, a bunch of your best mates and the wind in your hair = fun for hours!

London has made some big investments in its cycling routes over recent years and if you and your mates want to test out a bit of cycling in the city, without committing to renting a bike for a whole day then you can pick up a ‘Boris Bike’ from one of the many docking stations around London (the London Cycle Hire Scheme was championed by former Mayor Boris Johns, hence why Londoners refer to the sturdy cycles as ‘Boris Bikes). It’s a great way to explore the city with friends – just make sure to pay attention on the roads and keep safe!

4. Get your Ping Pong on

Where? Bounce Shoreditch, 241 Old St, Hoxton, EC1V 9EY
Why go with your group? Because everyone likes a bit of friendly competition between friends …

What do you get when you combine friends, ping pong and a buzzing bar? A great night out of course! Bounce ‘The home of Ping Pong’ has various locations throughout London and welcomes bookings for groups of 6 or more. Reserve a table and get ready to see which members of your group have got a super competitive side … Ping Pong, of course, can be hungry work so if you and your gang are prone to getting peckish, you can order pizzas, burgers or bar snacks to keep team energy levels high!

5. Conquer the Escape Room!

Where? Unit 2, 3 Lever Street, EC1V 3QU
Why go with your group? Because what better way to bond with friends than getting yourself stuck in a locked bunker room? …

For an adrenaline-fueled group activity in London, head to Escape Rooms where you and your group will be kept on your collective toes as you’re locked in a laser filled room and challenged to escape … With secret compartments, locked doors that suddenly spring into action and random alarms that only serve to increase your level of panic – this high octane activity is bound to leave you and your group feeling exhilarated! Book in advance to guarantee your spot.
