It’s been a strange few months but things are beginning to get back to normal. Although there are a few safety measures in place, there’s still plenty of fun things to do this summer in Amsterdam. With the weather warming up and fewer crowds to slow you down, it’s actually a great time to visit the Dutch capital. If you’re wanting to plan a trip to Amsterdam but still need some convincing, this one is for you!

1. Hang out in a park

Amsterdam may be a compact city but there’s no shortage of beautiful parks to hang out in and break away from the hustle and bustle. From Westerpark on the western side of the city to Amsterdam Bos on the city’s southern outskirts, you’re never too far away from a green space that’s perfect for a picnic or a spot of sunbathing.  Grab a few snacks and a couple of drinks and soak up the sun in style!

2. Go on a bike ride

With so many hidden gems, stunning canals, and hipster hotspots dotted around, Amsterdam is the perfect location to explore by bike. For those looking to travel further afield why not explore the Noord district and discover the mix of old and new Amsterdam. Just make sure you keep your wits about you. Although fun, cycling in Amsterdam can take some getting used to, so be careful!

3. See the sights

From Dam square and the red light district, to the NEMO museum and NDSM, the Dutch capital is brimming with sightseeing spots – perfect for budding photographers and selfie kings and queens. There’s plenty to see so get out there and explore.

4. Go shopping

A trip to Amsterdam wouldn’t be complete without a little bit of shopping. With everything from cute, designer boutiques and vintage stores to high street shops and places to grab a souvenir, there’s something for everyone. P.S: make sure you’ve checked your baggage allowance before you get too carried away!
