We are back for a second episode of What’s Up! London, which this time focuses more on what’s on and what there is to do around Kings Cross, where both our hostels Clink78 and Clink261 are located. Check out the video and more information below!



Nivens

Great for: Breakfast, lunch or coffee – Free range eggs, streaky back bacon, Chorizo or Cumberland sausage.

Why go?:  Always available for some of the best fine food around Kings Cross and has a large selection on offer that is cooked to order or just to sit and have a cup of freshly made coffee.

Where: 157 Kings Cross Road, London WC1X 9BN

When:  Monday to Friday – 7am to 4pm.

Tube Station: Kings Cross

 

Exmouth Food Market

Great for: Al Fresco lunches of foods from every corner of the world!

Why go?: The market offers up a massive variety of freshly cooked dishes from all over the world that will have your taste buds tingling.

Where: Exmouth Road, between Farringdon Road and St. Johns Street.

When: Monday to Friday – 12 – 3(ish) pm.

Tube Station: Kings Cross/Angel

 

Notting Hill Carnival

Great for: Food, Music, Party Atmosphere and Carnival Activities

Why go?: Known as one of the biggest and best street parties in all of Europe with the sounds, smells and sights of that will rival any other carnival you have been to.

Where: Ladbroke Grove, Westbourne Grove, Chepstow Road and Great Western Road in Notting Hill.

When: 25th and 26th August (August Bank Holiday weekend).

Tube Station: Ladbroke Grove/Westbourne Park/Notting Hill Gate/Bayswater

 

Gagosian Gallery

Great for: Seeing unique pieces of art by Jenny Saville.

Why go?: Get the chance to see very unique pieces of art but the fantastic artist Jenny Saville. This is the first solo exhibit of a Gagosian Gallery.

Where: 6-24 Britannia Street, London WC1X 9JD

When: 13th June – 26th July

Tube Station: Kings Cross

 

The Floating Cinema

Great for: A very different and relaxing cinema experience.

Why go?: This very unique way of going to the cinema as you slowly meander along the London canals while watching some of your favourite films.

Where: London Canal Museum, 12-13 Wharf Road, N1 9RT

When: Every day (check The Floating Cinema website for specific dates)

Tube Station: Kings Cross

 

Sen Viet

Great for: Freshly prepared Vietnamese dishes.

Why go?: This restaurant is a favourite of most of staff and we all highly recommend that everyone try, as the food is that good and the prices are very fair for what you get. Also, it is across the road from Clink78.

Where: 119 Kings Cross Road, London, WC1X 9NH

When: Everyday 11am to 3pm then 5pm until 11pm

Tube Station: Kings Cross

 

Drink, Shop, Do.

Great for: Afternoon Tea, Cocktails, Dancing and fantastically themed nights.

Why go?: It is a hub of entertainment with lots of differently theme events held on a weekly basis and lots or fantastic and unique cocktails in the evening.

Where: 9 Caledonian Road, London, N1 9DX

When: Everyday, 9am till 2am.

Tube Station: Kings Cross

 

Simmons

Great for: Happy Hour drinks and cocktails in a teacup.

Why go?: They have a large range of cocktails and drinks on offer that are served in very strange ways from some people, but very British!

Where: 32 Caledonian Road, Islington, London, N1 9DT

When: Sunday to Wednesday – 4pm till 12am/Thursday to Saturday – 4pm till 3am
