Full or Part Time Role

The Background

We believe in providing an outstanding guest experience for city explorers. Founded by two sisters who share a genuine love for travel, Clink Hostels is an innovative, fast-growing hostel business that currently has two locations in London totaling 1000 beds and further locations coming on-stream from 2015 including 750 beds in Amsterdam.
Clink Hostels is a dynamic, independent business with ambitious goals to strategically build a global brand and become a market leader in the international hostel industry.

The Clink Culture is at the core of everything we do and our values are, in summary: Our Guests, In-tune, Dedication and Difference. Our success is built on having capable leaders and a great team who understand how to be themselves and bring that across to our guests.

The Roles:

All work areas/roles in Clink exist to ensure great experiences and amazing travel memories for our guests. Clink Hostels is a social hub for travelers and we enable this environment by informing, welcoming, serving breakfast, coffee and cakes and ensuring that guests have an awesome time in the bar when the night falls- the Food and Beverage team are the Vibe curators of ClinkNOORD, with full responsibility of the atmosphere.

The Food & Beverage Outlets

The Breakfast (Early Birds) – to help the Clinkers start their day
The Café – serving finest coffee and small food all day round
The Bar – good local beers, spirits, cocktails and events daily
The Kitchen – travellers all time ‘comfort’ classics as well as some new style dishes for prices that wont break you

The Key Responsibilities

In our kitchen, we prepare comfort dishes that remind our travellers of their home. We believe that hostel food can be tasty, looking fresh and appetizing and it should not break the bank while you are travelling. And that is exactly we are doing.

Our kitchen crew is a small team that is constantly looking at improving what we do. They ask guests what they like and they reflect these wishes in developing our menus. There is much space for experimenting and creating own dishes for the menu as there is plenty of time to learn to cook a perfect burger and pizza.

The main tasks of the crew are all round operation of the kitchen. Our structure is flat so you will not only learn to cook but to order products, do preparations, work with HACCP standards, be in daily contact with guest and participate in developing dishes as well as costing them.

Our kitchen is open daily from 16/17 – 23.00. The team usually works between 15/16-00.00

…and now the key, you:

Good work-life balance is essential to our colleagues at Clink. We offer limited hierarchy and lots of space for own initiative. We want you to enjoy life, have fun at work and not only live to work.

As exchange we are looking for someone with switched-on thinking, balanced, and energetic with good people skills and a big smile. Someone that is humble but willing to develop and become a part of the stable and independently working Clink Kitchen team. Huge kitchen experience is not needed but demonstrable passion for cooking and learning this trade is.
