Deptford’s history lies in shipbuilding and is famous for being the home of King Henry VIII’s Royal Dockyards. Located just below Royal Greenwich, it’s currently an area rich in culture with large African, Student and Artist populations. If you’re after second hand junk, giant snails, pubs, fish, flowers and the odd art show – look no further than Deptford.
