There are many things to do in London that can fill up you day with the sights, but one of our personal favourite ways to see them, is by a River Thames Cruise. There are many companies you can pick from and many locations and lengths of cruises that you can take.

There are several companies you can choose from that do a large variety of cruises down the River Thames. Some of the cruises are quite similar between the companies and some differ completely.

EDF Energy run their own London Eye cruise, which leaves from the London Eye pier and lasts around 40 minutes. On the cruise you will get to see some of the main sites, including Big Ben, Tower Bridge and St. Pauls Cathedral. They also offer private cruise for groups of 15-99 people.

If you like things a little more exciting, then adrenaline junkies unite and try one of the Speed Boat trips down the Thames. The boat still stops at many of the London sites and you will learn a lot from the highly knowledgeable guides but between each destination the engines fire up and you are rocked down the Thames at high speed.

If that doesn’t interest you, then why not head out on one of the afternoon tea, lunch or dinner cruises. These spectacular cruise, slowly meander down the Thames, stopping at each main attraction, so you get a fabulous backdrop while enjoying a spot of tea or some professionally made food.

One of the most popular cruise types, is the Disco/Party cruises that are available via tickets or for hire. The cruises that offer the Discos are ticketed events and last most of the night, with drinks served the whole time. The other option is to hire one for your own party, where you can bring you own caterers, DJ’s or bands, or they can be supplied by the cruise companies. What a experience it would be to have your birthday party, stag/hen do or any other memorable celebrations on a cruise up the Thames.
