July 13, 2023

King’s Cross has seen huge regeneration over the past few years, and with that has come an explosion of new trendy restaurant openings – but there’s still plenty of options for those on a budget or looking for cheap places to eat in King’s Cross.

We know that finding affordable but delicious eateries in a busy city like London can be a challenge, so we’ve tried and tested lots to bring you our recommendations of the top cheap eats in King’s Cross.

Check out our pick of the six best affordable restaurants in King’s Cross.

1. Sen Viet

Where? 119 King’s Cross Rd, WC1X 9NH
Why go? For delicious, generous servings of classic Vietnamese dishes in a cosy and kitsch setting

Just across the road from Clink78 is one of our all-time favourite cheap places to eat in King’s Cross. A big hit with both staff and locals alike, you can always rely on Sen Viet to deliver the goods.

Serving up hearty, home-cooked Vietnamese food, coming here feels like a big warm hug from your favourite relative. The menu is extensive but quality is certainly not compromised as a result.

You can expect generous portions of comforting Vietnamese classics from phos and noodles to meat dishes and baguettes, all at super reasonable prices. We especially love the rare beef pho and the banh mi heo nuong (chargrilled pork) baguette.

…Plus, if you’re staying at Clink78 all you have to do is roll yourself home to bed afterwards!

2. Pizza Union

Where? 246-250 Pentonville Road, N1 9JY
Why go? For authentic, wood-fired pizzas at a bargain price!

If we could pick one food to eat forevermore, pizza would probably be it. And when it’s as delicious and cheap as the pizzas at Pizza Union, it’s tempting to go back again and again … (and again).

Pizza Union is just a stone’s throw from St. Pancras Station and serves up authentic, wood-fired pizzas for a pleasingly diminutive cost. A classic margarita will set you back just £5.95, whilst the most expensive pizza on the menu (the Carne) is only £8.95!

Order at the counter and your pizza will be made fresh and cooked in a flash. There’s a buzzy, warm vibe about the place so grab a bunch of mates and head along for a beer and bargain carb fix.
