10 of the Best Rooftop Bars in London

July 21, 2023

Oh you’re looking for the best rooftop bars in London? Then you’ve come to the right place! There’s plenty to be found and we’ve picked out ten of our favourites. Read on to find out what they are!

1. Netil 360

Address: 1 Westgate St, E8 3RL
Come here: To discover the favourite rooftop of East Londoners in-the-know

East London’s rooftop scene shows no sign of letting up anytime soon. Firm favourite is Netil 360, just around the corner from London Fields and Broadway Market. With laid back vibes, craft beers and, of course, incredible views, Netil 360 is ticking all the boxes for us. Plus, they’ve got a rooftop dog (find her at #trestherooftopdog on insta) so they’ve gotta be a good bunch!

2. Frank’s Cafe

Address: Peckham Multi-Storey Car Park, 95a Rye Lane, Peckham, SE15 4ST
Come here: For banging views across the city with an aperol spritz firmly in hand

As temperatures soar in London, crowds flock to this trendy art space, rooftop bar and cafe, atop a multi-story car park in Peckham. Get down early and you should be able to skip inside with minimal fuss – and if you’re hungry, make a ditch to beat the queues for their tasty offering of kebabs, grilled fish and small dishes. It gets busy here, that’s for sure, but the buzzy feel of Frank’s with its top notch views across the city, is worth the effort.

3. Bussey Rooftop Bar

Address: Roof B Bussey Building, 133 Rye Ln, London SE15 4ST
Come here: For South East London’s more refined roof top offering

Frank’s may be the more well known of the two, but another Peckham stalwart, The Bussey Building, has a stellar sky-grazing space to offer too. Probably best known for its regular club nights, this multi-purpose arts venue is also host to a trendy roof terrace. Apparently, this is the ‘highest drinking spot in Peckham’ so the views are pretty good. The vibe is a bit more grown-up here than at Frank’s so if you’re feeling that way inclined, the Bussey Rooftop Bar is your best bet in South East London.

4. Roof East

Address: Stratford Multi Storey Car Park, Great Eastern Way, E15 1BB, UK
Come here: For the most all-singing-all-dancing rooftop offering!

Roof East is a proper rooftop playground. With crazy golf, a swing, a hip-hop bowl, a cinema and plenty of street food to choose from, the guys at Roof East have taken roof-toppin’ to the next level. Come and join the fun, with a view!

5. Queen of Hoxton

Address: 1 Curtain Rd, London EC2A 3JX
Come here: For a creative take on rooftop revelry

A true stalwart of the Shoreditch skyline, The Queen of Hoxton has been bringing rooftop joy to East Londoners for what feels like a pretty long time now. Not to rest on their laurels, the venue is transformed twice yearly with an innovative new theme. We’ve seen a Moroccan Medina, a Neverland, and even ‘Lost Vegas’ where you could meet Elvis in the Little Vegas Wedding Chapel. This summer, enjoy a Hispanic-inspired oasis where you can try Olmeca Altos tequila cocktails. What more could you want?

6. Dalston Roof Park

Address: The Print House, 18-22 Ashwin St, E8 3DL
Come here: To have some fun for a good cause

A rooftop with a conscious, all money at Dalston Roof Park goes towards supporting The Bootstrap Company, a Hackney charity which works to alleviate poverty and further education in the local community. Surrounded by Hackney’s Victorian buildings, and with a cracking view of London’s skyscrapers, it’s definitely a rooftop to visit this summer. With regular DJs, parties and other pop up events – including Sunrise Yoga! – there’s always plenty going on at DRP.

7. Big Chill King’s Cross

Address: 257-259 Pentonville Road, N1 9NL
Come here: If you’re staying at Clink and looking for a place nearby to chill out in the sunshine!

Big Chill’s Rooftop is a great shout if you’re staying at Clink – it’s literally just down the road! Grab a bunch of mates, a sharing platter and a few beers and while away the day!

8. Golden Bee

Address: Singer St, London EC1V 9DD
Come here: If you’re a big group. At Golden Bee, you can book for up to 40 guests.

Enjoy stunning Shoreditch views from Golden Bee’s Rooftop Terrace, and seasonal and classic cocktails at their rooftop bar. Their retractable canopy ensures year-round enjoyment. Note that the rooftop closes at midnight, but the Main Bar remains open late. £10 entry charge applies Fridays after 9pm and all day Saturdays.

9. The Culpeper

Address: 40 Commercial St, London E1 6LP
Come here: If you want to get the freshest food you can eat on a rooftop!

The Culpeper Rooftop is a visionary urban oasis, transforming underused city spaces into vibrant gardens. Spanning 1,400 sq ft with 500 sq ft dedicated to growing, this rooftop supplies the restaurant and bar with fresh, organic produce. The rooftop also hosts workshops and volunteer opportunities for those interested in urban agriculture. Join them to experience sustainable urban living and enjoy the freshest food possible.

10. Alfie’s Rooftop Kitchen

Address: Alfies Antique Market, 13-25 Church St, London NW8 8DT
Come here: for one of the most affordable rooftops in London!

Located on the top floor of Alfies Antiques Market, Alfies Rooftop Kitchen is a hidden gem reached via a mahogany staircase, nestled among antiques and vintage items. They serve homemade dishes, desserts, teas, coffees, and alcoholic drinks too. Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere on their sunny roof terrace with panoramic views of London!
