Arrivals & Departures
Everything you need to know about check-in, check-out and a few other important bits.
Check-in times
Clink i Lár Dublin: From 3pm
Clink NOORD Amsterdam: From 3pm
All other properties: From 4pm
Arriving early? No problem — drop your bags at reception and get out there. We’ll look after them until you’re ready.
Check-out time By 10am. Please make sure you and your belongings are out of the room by then. Need to store your bags after check-out? Swing by reception and we’ll sort you out. Running late? You may be charged for an extra night — worth setting that alarm.
All guests can stay up to 14 days within a 28-day period.
Clink MAMA and Clink COCO — a few extra things to know
Check-in: 4pm–10pm Check-out: By 11am
Arriving after 10pm at Clink COCO? Get in touch with our team before 4pm on the day of arrival and we’ll make sure you have everything you need to get in.
Maximum stay at Clink MAMA and Clink COCO: 7 days in a 28-day period for dorms, 14 days for private rooms.
Identification
Bring valid photo ID — passport, government-issued ID card or driving licence. No photocopies accepted. You’ll need it to check in, so don’t leave it at the bottom of your bag.
Guests checking into Clink i Lár Dublin: Valid government-issued ID required — passport, national ID, driver’s licence from North America, Australia or the EU, or a Garda Age Card for Ireland. Photocopies and residency cards or visas are not accepted.
Age Restrictions
Under 18s are welcome as long as they’re accompanied by an adult (18 or over). Guests wanting to bring children under 16 must book a whole dorm or private room. Guests aged 16 or 17 can book a dorm bed but must be accompanied by an adult. No upper age limit — though most of our guests are backpackers in the 18–30 range.
Room Allocation
Travelling with friends or family? We’ll do our best to keep your group together, but it can’t always be guaranteed. If you want to be certain, book a private room or secure the whole dorm. All dorms are mixed unless a girls-only dorm is booked.
Payment
Clink is cashless. We accept Mastercard, iDEAL and Visa for all bookings. The payment card must match the name on your ID at check-in. We don’t accept American Express, Diners Club or cash.
Staying in Amsterdam? A city tax of 12.5% is not included in the room rate and will be added to your balance on arrival.
2. Cancellation Policy
Non-refundable rate
No flexibility, but you get a 10% discount. Full payment is taken at the time of booking and the reservation cannot be changed or cancelled.
Semi-flexible rate
10% discount with the option to cancel free of charge up to 7 days before arrival. The full amount is charged 7 days prior to arrival in the local currency of the property. Cancel or no-show within 7 days of arrival and no refund will be given.
Fully flexible rate
Full flexibility up to 24 hours before arrival. Cancel free of charge up to midnight, 24 hours before you’re due. The full amount is charged at midnight, 24 hours before arrival, in the local currency of the property. Cancel or no-show after that point and no refund will be given.
Early bird rate
Plans set in stone? Book at least 30 days in advance and get 15% off. Early bird reservations are prepaid, non-refundable and cannot be changed. Full payment is taken at the time of booking. Not available at Clink MAMA or Clink COCO.
Large bookings
For any single booking of €1,000/£1,000 or more, a non-refundable 20% deposit is required at the time of booking regardless of rate type. The remaining 80% is charged in line with the cancellation policy of the rate selected.
Arriving a day late without letting us know? We’ll do our best to find you a bed, but it may not be the same room type you booked and extra charges may apply.
Room Access & Key Cards
You’ll receive a key card at check-in for access to the hostel and your room. Lost it? Replacements cost £2/€2 — worth keeping track of. Alternatively, check in online and use Goki on your phone to access your room digitally.
Special Offers & Packages
Clink runs a variety of special offers and packages throughout the year, open to all guests except group bookings of 20 or more, which have their own terms. All packages, the Youth Discount rate and some other special offers are non-refundable once booked. Not sure? Just ask our team before you confirm.
Receipts & Invoices
Need proof of payment? We can provide receipts for your stay. Invoices are available after your stay through our reservations team for groups of 20 or more.
Guest Behaviour
We want everyone to have a good time, and that means looking out for each other. Any guest who compromises the comfort, safety or security of other guests, staff or local residents will be asked to leave without a refund. Respect the people around you. It’s not a lot to ask.
No Smoking
Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside our buildings. If you’re caught smoking outside of designated areas, you’ll be fined and asked to leave immediately — no refund issued.

No Drugs
We uphold the laws on drug use across all our locations — and yes, that includes Amsterdam. If any guest is found using drugs within our buildings, they’ll be fined and asked to leave immediately with no refund issued.

Alcohol
We don’t serve alcohol to anyone under 18. Guests are not permitted to bring their own alcohol onto the premises — our bar licence doesn’t allow it.
If you’re found bringing alcohol into the building, it will be confiscated until checkout and you’ll be charged: Clink 261 London: £50 Clink NOORD Amsterdam: €50 Clink i Lár Dublin: €100
Drinks are available at the bar and can be enjoyed there and in designated areas only.
Personal Property
Every pod bed in our dorms has a personal locker for small valuables. Larger lockers are available throughout the building, just ask at reception about costs. Your belongings are your responsibility, so bring a padlock and use it. Clink accepts no liability for loss, theft or damage to personal property.
Damage to Property
If you damage anything during your stay, you’ll be expected to cover the cost. Simple as that.
Liability
Except in cases of death or personal injury caused by our negligence, Clink’s liability is limited to the value of the services booked, excluding any amendment charges.
Personal Data
We only store and use the information you provide to carry out your booking and, occasionally, to let you know about other offers and services. If you’d rather we didn’t, just drop us an email at [email protected]. For more detail, see our Cookies and Privacy Policy.
Errors & Omissions
If there’s an error in any of our materials — online or otherwise — we reserve the right to correct it without liability. We’ll let you know about any changes at the time of booking or as soon as we can.
Discretion
All bookings are subject to availability. Clink reserves the right to decline any booking at its discretion.
Refunds
In the event of force majeure — governmental action, transport disruption, terrorist attack, acts of God and the like — Clink is unable to issue refunds, and we reserve the right to receive any outstanding payments on confirmed bookings.
Pets
No pets in the hostel, please. Guide dogs are always welcome though.
Extension Leads & Adaptors
Extension leads are not permitted. If you’re bringing adaptors, please make sure they’re quality assured.
Gift Cards
Gift cards are non-refundable and have no cash value. Valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. To redeem, get in touch with our customer service team by phone or email and share your gift card code. Gift cards can’t be redeemed through the website or applied retrospectively to an existing booking. Use it before the expiry date — it won’t be valid after that. Gift cards are purchased in GBP. If you’re booking in EUR, we use the daily exchange rate.
Accessibility
Clink welcomes guests of all races, nationalities, genders, gender identities, ages and abilities. If any guest has specific requirements due to a disability, please let us know at the time of booking so we can make sure everything’s in order before you arrive. 3. Groups
Accommodation
Group conditions apply to all bookings of 20 people or more.
Age restrictions: At Clink NOORD and Clink i Lár, guests must be 15+ between March and October and 12+ from November through February (request only — please flag at the time of booking). An 18+ age restriction applies at Clink 261 at all times.
Due to the layout of our buildings, we can’t always place groups on the same floor — but we’ll always do our best to keep you as close together as possible.
A rooming list must be received at least 7 days before arrival, including guest names, room types, leader names and a breakdown of under and over 18s.
Coach parking is not available at any of our properties.
A note on Clink COCO and Clink MAMA: these are our smaller, cosier properties and work best for smaller groups. We don’t accept bookings for groups larger than 8 at either location — bookings above this number will be cancelled without a refund.
Meals & Services
Breakfast can get busy, so we ask all groups to book a 30-minute slot at the time of confirmation. Slots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis — if we don’t hear from you, we’ll assign one automatically.

All menu and dietary requirements must be confirmed at least 2 weeks before arrival. If we haven’t heard from you by then, we’ll make the call on what’s served. Please double-check your order — we can’t take responsibility for incorrect information provided to us.

4. Payment
Early bird, non-refundable and special offer rates
Full payment is required within 24 hours of booking confirmation — this applies to all group sizes.
Flexible rates
A non-refundable 20% deposit is due immediately after booking confirmation for all groups.
The remaining balance is due as follows:
Groups of 20–99: The remaining 80% is due 30 days before arrival.
Groups of 100+: 40% is due 60 days before arrival. The final 40% is due 30 days before arrival.
Bookings without deposit or balance payment received within the required timeframe will be automatically cancelled. All payments must be made by card or bank transfer in the local currency of the property. Bank charges are your responsibility. Bank transfers are accepted up to 30 days before arrival — after that, card payment only. Any extras (meals, attraction tickets, transfers) must be paid as incurred or at the time of balance payment.
Cancellation
Modifications and cancellations are only available on flexible rates.
Full cancellation: Groups of 20–99: up to 30 days before arrival (20% deposit non-refundable) Groups of 100+: up to 60 days before arrival (20% deposit non-refundable)
Partial cancellation: You can reduce the number of beds booked by up to 10% per night, up to the last payment date — 30 days before arrival.
All cancellations must be sent by email to [email protected]. Partial cancellations and amendments are subject to date and rate restrictions.
Clink reserves the right to cancel a booking if there is a reasonable operational reason to do so, if the booking may be prejudicial to the reputation of the company or hostel, or if we become aware of an adverse change in financial status that gives us reasonable concern about your ability to meet payment obligations. In such cases, a full refund will be issued. Where possible, we’ll do our best to find an alternative location of a similar standard nearby.
These terms exist to make sure your group and Clink start off on the right foot — so that everyone has a good time and nobody’s left with any surprises.
5. Group Arrivals & Departures
Groups are required to check in and out together. If that’s not possible, let the Group Sales Team know in advance.
We’ll accommodate the number of guests in the room types confirmed by email. If more people arrive on the day, they’ll be charged the available rate at check-in.
We can’t check in a group until full payment has been received and the house rules have been signed by the group leader.
Check-out is at 10am. Rooms not vacated by then will incur a fine.
Free shared luggage storage is available before check-in and after check-out. Space is limited, so please let us know in advance if you need it.
Reception is open 24/7 — there’s always someone around if you or your group need anything.
6. In house
An 11pm curfew applies to all guests under 18. Please make sure they’re in their rooms by then.
Guests cannot bring their own alcohol onto the premises. If found doing so, all alcohol will be confiscated until checkout and the following charges will apply: Clink 261 London: £50 Clink NOORD Amsterdam: €50 Clink i Lár Dublin: €100
Alcohol is available at the bar and can be consumed there and in designated areas only.
Smoking inside the building is against the law. Anyone caught smoking indoors will be fined £50/€50.
Anyone found using drugs will be fined £250/€250 and asked to leave immediately. No refund will be issued.
Guests are expected to cover the cost of any damage caused during their stay.
We can’t accept deliveries of packed lunches or tickets from external companies at any of our properties. Need lunches or tickets for your group? We can sort that — just ask.
Please make sure everyone in your group has adequate travel insurance. We can’t take responsibility for lost or stolen property.
7. Venue Hire
The rules
No outside alcohol — privately bought drinks are not permitted on the premises. No confetti cannons. No smoke machines. No smoking inside. Please be respectful of other hostel guests — your event is for your group only. Use of other hostel facilities or areas requires prior agreement.
Additional policies
Damage: The renting party is responsible for any damage to the venue or its contents and will cover any repair or replacement costs. Noise: Keep it reasonable. Other guests and neighbours matter too. Cleanliness: Leave the venue as you found it. Any waste generated during the event is your responsibility to dispose of. Equipment & decorations: Nothing that could damage the venue or its contents, please. Security: The renting party is responsible for the security of the venue during the event and liable for any costs arising from security incidents.
Payment & Cancellation
Payment is due in line with the agreed schedule.
Cancellation fees based on total rental price: Up to 2 weeks before: 0% 1 week before: 25% 3 days before: 50% 1 day before: 75%
Cancellation fees are due upon notification. By booking the venue, you confirm you’ve read, understood and agreed to these terms.
